Garni Gorge is one of the most dramatic natural places in Kotayk Province. The Azat River cuts through high rock walls below Garni village, showing the volcanic layers that make this part of Armenia feel so different from Yerevan. It is easy to combine with Garni Temple and Geghard Monastery.

The best-known section is the Symphony of Stones, but the gorge is more than one photo stop. Walk closer to the river, look at the basalt walls from below, and leave a little time to enjoy the sound of the water between the rocks. Most travelers need about 45-70 minutes for a relaxed visit.
