Areni wine village is one of the warmest stops in Vayots Dzor. The road opens into dry hills, vineyards and small cellars where wine feels tied to family stories, not only to bottles and labels. A short visit is enough to understand why Areni remains one of the clearest names on Armenia's wine map.

What to see

Areni works best as part of a real route, not as a rushed roadside pause. You can start with Areni-1 Cave, continue with a tasting, and then drive toward Noravank Monastery. For a more personal visit, choose a family winery or a smaller tasting room.
