Lake Parz is the kind of Dilijan stop that does not need a complicated plan. Come for a short walk, sit near the water, take a few photos and let the forest slow the day down. The lake is inside Dilijan National Park, among green slopes, and it works well for families, couples and travellers who want an easy nature break near Dilijan.

What to expect

Lake Parz is not large, and that is part of its charm. The area is easy to understand, the walk is simple, and the view is available without a difficult hike. Summer is more active, with boats, small leisure activities and family visits. Autumn is quieter, with stronger colours reflected in the water. Useful facts about the lake and nearby trail are listed in the Explore Armenia trail description.

Walk slowly around the shore

If you have time, do not stop only at the first viewpoint. Move along the shore and the lake changes: in one place the water opens up, in another the trees come close to the edge. Lake Parz Dilijan is best in daylight, before the forest shadow becomes too heavy over the water. Please keep the area clean and stay on clear paths; it is a leisure stop, but also a protected natural setting.
